Coiled spring washers
Description
Coiled spring washers are the most common washers used to prevent the bolted joint connection from loosening.
They feature a ring that has been split and twisted, creating two sharp edges.
When the bolted joint is tightened, the lock washer will twist, flatten and the two sharp edges bite the underhead of the bolt and the bearing surface. This prevents loosening.
Coiled spring washers are normally designed for use with bolt/nut assemblies involving fasteners of a property class 6.8 and 8.8.
